  1. Dusty Jones says:

    Honestly,
    Right off, I give it a 10/10.
I fell in love with it the first time I heard it.
I havent stopped listening to it.
I only have the standard version.
But I love all 12 songs.
    From Bloodlines to Volcano,
    ITS AMAZING!
    No lie.

  2. Derrick (the klokateer #051) says:

the new album is amazing! I loved the first album, but this one kicks its ass! the bonus dvd is sweet too.

I’m loving laser cannon deth sentence and the gears, but the whole album is great, so you really can’t go wrong!

    Derrick

  3. fluffy says:

the new album is AMAZING, but i did like the vocals from the first album more than the new one.

  4. Adam Wolf says:

    Simply -OUTSTANDING!-

I was completely blown away by the face melting riffs that exploded out of my speakers. I can’t get face close enough!

Nathans new-and-improved vocals make me want to smash my face against the nearest wall in a head-banging frenzy!

I don’t think I can put any more exclamation points in a single comment!

YOU MUST GO OUT AND BUY IT! If you didn’t consider yourself a Gear after listening to the first album, you will now. Dethklok has become something more then just a ‘cartoon’ band. They are a full fledged “rip your face off and drown whats left of you in a pool of dark metal” band. I really can’t come up with enough words to describe how HAPPY I am with this new album. And how much it kicks -serious- ass. I demand a Gear brand be sent to me in the mail. I am that serious.

  5. Alex says:

This album is pretty insane. One thing I can say is it is not as funny as the last one, but it makes up for it in sheer audio ultraviolence.

I love how they added new elements to the music, like the tribal drums in Bloodlines, and the subtle darkness of Black Fire Upon Us. Nathan’s voice has expanded its range. His old style of screaming has grown into a guttural roar, and he utilizes a high pitched scream, hearkening back to the good old days of death metal. My favorite song has to be Volcano.

I haven’t gotten a chance to just sit and watch the whole DVD, but I did preview it at work and showed my country music loving friends, they got a kick out of it.

I haven’t seen the standard edition yet, but I can say the artwork and layout of the deluxe edition is gorgeous. I love the way the Klokateer art on the inside is stylized in the vein of communist propaganda, and the reflective front cover kind of sucks you in. I especially like the way the logo was colored and shaded.

All in all i definitely won’t be taking this cd out of the player for a long time. I have listened to It 6 times yesterday alone. It will not disappoint, It will crush you! Even if you are not a fan of the show, if you are a fan of metal, this is the ONLY metal cd you need to buy!

    WE FEAR NOT DETH!

  6. Tom says:

    Album: excellent, truly awesome.

“Deluxe” edition: SUCKS. Sucks HARDCORE. “Bait and switch” is the only term for it. We were told it was going to have live stuff and two bonus tracks. All it has are the screen projections with Dethalbum 1′s album music. And that is IT. No bonus tracks, most importantly. Worst of all, this BS has continued even today, after the album has been released. Look at Amazon, still shows that description. Best Buy’s ad said it would have live stuff and bonus tracks. This is CRAP. Williams Street is taking advantage of the rarity of the first album’s deluxe to make a little extra off of this one and it’s for no reason. There is nothing special here other than a shiny metallic package and a DVD that may get one viewing.

    • Chad says:

Yeah, I read the description on amazon and best buy and a few other sites, but if you were to look at any of the official sites (Williamsstreet.com, diefordethklok.org) it said this: “*The Deluxe edition will include a bonus DVD with 52 minutes of never-before-released music videos featured in the 2008 Dethklok tour.”
So, if anything amazon got the wrong info. Although, I never saw any site that said anything about “Live” sets. It was known to me that the DVD would only have the 2008 music vids from the tour. You can’t believe what you read on the other sites. My opinion? Buy the deluxe version. Most places don’t sell it for that much more money and if you ask me the DVD is definitely worth it. Sorry you were lied to though that kinda sucks.

  7. kohkah says:

dont complain…be happy you found a deluxe my friends couldent find any… here is my unboxing of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82y47CyePyo

  8. joshbettes says:

i love this shit. ive been waiting for the live videos since i went to the show. i noticed that my deluxe edition booklet has misprints. lyrics to the gears, lyrics to burn the earth, more lyrics to the gears, then all the lyrics to burn the earth. check it out peeps, let me know if anyone elses is like that. but as far as a review. i love the album, love the dvd, and the packaging kicks ass. i dont have the standard version but ill pick it up eventually.

    • Chad says:

Yeah mine is like that too. I got a signed version of the standard edition booklet from newbury comics and the misprint is there as well.

  9. The Dagda Mor says:

I also have the deluxe edition. Looking right now for the 2 bonus tracks not on the basic CD. But there is nothing hidden on the disc at all… hmmm… Also I am not able to burn my CD to either I-Tunes or Zune for some reason…

I got mine directly through Williams Street.
    -14 tracks of spine-frying metal
-3 music videos from 2008 tour

  10. Derrick (the klokateer #051) says:

my deluxe edition booklet has the same misprints, so I’m guessing its just a fuck up.

as for the shit talking about the deluxe edition, this site posted the exact details. I never heard of this “exclusive tracks and live dvd” until today.

I’m happy with the music videos because it reminds me of the awesome concert….and its a good refresher because I was already pretty drunk by the time dethklok got to the stage.

sounds like those who preordered online got corn holed, because I reserved 2 copies of the deluxe at hastings two months ago and got them yesterday at 9 am for 10 bucks each. maybe I just had a stroke of luck.

  11. Bill says:

Absolutely ridiculous in intensity, and completely legitimate.

I, too, expected the DVD to be a bit more than just animated music videos, but since I haven’t been able to get to one of the shows, it will do nicely. The sound didn’t even seem to be from a live recording. Besides, I got this “deluxe” edition at Best Buy for $9.99 (the “standard” was $7.99).

I was a bit wary of the extra reliance (or at least prominence in the mix) of keyboards, but it all works. Also, the difference in the vocals and the less obvious humor of lyrics compared to Dethalbum I was instantly noticeable. That’s not to say, “Pull the plug, its costing too much” doesn’t have a darkly humorous bent to it, but nothing as humorous as “Fan Song” or “Kill You.”

Gene Hoglan is just one outrageous drumming man/machine.

Its been a fantastic day having this to finally listen to.

  12. Ankh Man says:

1st, this album does blast you, no denying that. The humor is very different from the 1st album though, not better, but not awful. I have waited for this album for a while and every where I looked it mentioned the deluxe version having 2 extra tracks, which is the main reason I picked up the deluxe version, I want more Dethklok music, I could care less about the dvd as I drive more than I watch tv. Anyone have any idea what’s up w/the missing tracks? Adult Swim, Amazon, Best Buy and many other places have it listed as 2 bonus tracks… Are we going to have to pay for these when they release them on Itunes? It’s a rock & a hard place here, get awesome music but get f*cked at the same time…it’s moments like these that cause people to illegally download music… I love what I got, but I want what I was told I’d be getting without having to pay extra than what I already did for the deluxe version.

  13. Cody says:

The DETHALBUM IS FUCKING BRUTAL!!!! makes me want to smash my face into a wall!! I will admit i liked nathens voice from the 1st dethalbum more BUT hes still more metal and brutal then anyone out there….his new voice is fucking amazing good work on the new voice :D …..dethklok is truly one of the top metal bands now not just a cartoon band there the real fucking deal…..LOVE LIVE DETHKLOK!!!

  14. A disappointed fan says:

Don’t get me wrong, the music on this album is the greatest music I have ever heard. I mean that 100%, it is fantastic.

Williams Street records posted on their site for this that there would be videos FROM THE TOUR. There are just some crappy animated music videos.

    No new songs

    No new content

    A big let down.

    • Chad says:

The videos are from the tour. Youtube “dethklok live” and you will see a screen with those videos projected on it. Some sites lied but I knew there would be no bonus songs-they were never listed anywhere, and diefordethklok.org never said anything about bonus songs. Not that big of a let down though….

  15. Ethan says:

    The album was awesome.

My head exploded from it. The lyrics weren’t as funny as they were in the first Dethalbum. I’m also not a big fan of Nathan’s voice in this one (Brendon Small, you are much better at the Deathgrunt than the Metalcore yell.
    Overall it was still amazing.

The two things that I really hated were that:
Skwisgaar’s awesome skydiving solo wasn’t used in any of the songs.
The deluxe edition didn’t come with any live videos or bonus tracks (though it was stated to have).

  16. OO1 COOKIE says:

The New Dethalbum rocks my socks. The BEST album I ever bought. The new vocals are effing awsome and the new dark sound that they are creating sends chills up my spine. I have not seen the 2 bonus tracks but that doesn’t worry me. If they were to have bonus tracks I would love to see the songs from Dethgov or Klok Blocked made into actual songs because they kick ass. Good job and keep up the brutality!

  17. Dave says:

This is the most Brutal album ever. 10/10 for sure

  18. fluffy says:

also, personal intrest, does anybody know if there might be a Murmaider III?

    • Chad says:

I read somewhere that it was part of a “Trilogy” but who knows…. maybe part one of this so-called trilogy is “Go Into the Water” But that is purely speculation.

  19. GreaseMonkey74 says:

10/10. This is all I listen to at work and in my truck. I bought the deluxe from best buy for only 9.99 & I am not disappointed with the dvd because they have not come close to where I live anywhere on tour, so I haven’t seen these. Bonus tracks would have been nice, but getting this album for this cheap doesn’t give anyone an excuse to not get this.

  20. MsKD666 says:

I need to listen some more. But on the whole the heavyness level seems to be constant throughout, where I found the first album to have more of a range, with it getting heavier later into the album? Guitars are epic and always pull me right in in Dethklok’s music.
There’s a more sophisticated sense to it for some reason, I’m not sure why considering the awesome standard of the first album.
The only thing I’m disappointed about it Toki’s song from Dethdad not being on it anywhere ;)

  21. ridiculas says:

The new album was just freakin’ insane! I already cant wait for season 3 and the album that will be after it. But just as others say it BLOWS that there was no 2 bonus tracks on the deluxe edition. I mean dont get me wrong the videos were cool but like everyone else i was expecting alot more.

  22. Dominocracy says:

I hate to say it, but as far as the Deluxe Edition is concerned, I’m pretty disappointed. As someone else posted, it was a complete bait and switch. None of the advertised bonus tracks or live material were included, and I honestly feel a little bit cheated. Luckily the album itself is amazing enough to soften the blow a little bit, but it still really sucks to be lied to about something I’ve been eagerly waiting about two years for.

After the sub-par production quality of the first album (not to mention the criminally short supply of Deluxe copies) and the bullshit lies about the bonus material of this second album, I really hope that the next CD is released on a different label. The Williams Street crap is getting slightly old.

    • Chad says:

That’s not gonna happen, considering William’s Street probably owns all copyrights to Metalocalypse and Dethklok. Sorry to burst your bubble.

  23. OO1 COOKIE says:

in addition to my earlier post I would like to say that all who are disappointed about the “bait and switch” should shut the fuck up. Why the hell are you following the word of best buy or other shit stores when clearly on july 20th 2009 a post went out with the exact details of the album. there were no mentioning of bonus tracks or actual live footage or what ever. so before bitching about things you thought should happen be a real Fucking Dethfan and follow what the site says rertards

    • Derrick (klokateer #051) says:

I couldn’t have said it better myself!

at least I’m not the only one who thinks this!

shit, most of the people paid $10 for the deluxe edition. that’s a great price for a new cd!

    • Ankh Man says:

Actually 001 cookie, we SHOULD NOT shut the fuck up! Maybe you don’t care but we FANS OF DETHKLOK MUSIC do! Maybe YOU saw something on July 20th, but me and others have seen 2 bonus tracks on multiple web sites for a while now with no correction anywhere!. Maybe YOU don’t care about not having more Dethklok music to enjoy, but us REAL FANS sure the fuck do! Think of it like this, a chick says she’s gonna put out out for you, then you take her to dinner and pay for her then she gets a headache and has you drop her off early. Sure you get her company and you paid for her with expectations, but then you feel like WTF? I paid for her and all I got was dinner with her, where’s the extra I was supposed to get??? That’s what those 2 tracks were like to us REAL FANS! Get it?

      • OO1 COOKIE says:

I would Love to have 2 more bonus tracks as much as the next guy but you need to accept the fact that the c.d. is out and there is nothing you can do about it. Instead of complaining about there not being bonus tracks maybe you should write something like “It kinda sucks that weren’t more songs, that was something I was looking forward to. Oh well maybe they will make up for it with the next album that has twice the number of tracks.” Think positive and don’t complain that “Dethklok did a great job but it wasn’t good enough.” Thats a pile of horse shit They delivered what was promised on the actual Dethklok Website. William street is just the producer and therefore doesn’t know as much as the actual band. So I will not shut up because of your bitching. REAL FANS Accept what they have and happy about it. I don’t want to be the bad guy I just don’t think its fair to punish Dethklok with bad reviews. And as for the getting laid part 1. you either call her later and she makes it up to you with double the fun or 2. You just sucked on the date and therefore don’t deserve her.

        • Ankh Man says:

That’s why you don’t get laid & I do, you just sit back and accept what happens without speaking about what’s wrong. Dethklok.org had the chance to correct what was on other sites, especially WilliamsStreet/AdultSwim with a simple message like “We heard from various other sites that there will be 2 bonus songs, however that is not true.” or something to that effect, but nothing was said to correct any rumors that were printed all over the place!. It’s not that we’re not happy with what we got, we love it, & we’ve said that, it’s that we expected what the releaser of the album, which isn’t Dethklok.org btfnw, told us we’d be getting and this forum allows us to say exactly what we feel. So enjoy exactly what you expected and spank it and we’ll enjoy how we feel about what we didn’t get by speaking our minds about it and if enough people speak and get heard, we hope you appreciate the fruits of our labor later on down the road. Don’t like when people speak their minds when they feel wronged then go to sissy land and run around the maypole!

          • OO1 COOKIE says:

I agree with you that the sites should have made their information right the first time and it does suck that we got screwed out of bonus tracks. Speaking your mind is a good thing, all I’m saying is to the people that think that Dethklok sucks or are disappointed in them for not having 2 bonus tracks, which was accidentially posted on other sites obviously, should accept the fact that there is nothing they can do right now. Banning together and saying “We want more Dethklok songs!” is what we should be saying to get the band motivated to do another album. Plus it might be awhile before they get there what with the new Metalocalypse season and the Dethgame and the tour all coming up. I was suprised to see The Dethalbum II out this early and I give credit to everyone. Before you go calling me a “sissy” just wrap your mind at what I’m trying to get at. Finally I am sorry that I came off sounding harsh but we all just need to chill out and Enjoy some MOTHER FUCKING DETHKLOK!!!!!

    • Dominocracy says:

Hey, fuck you buddy. The Williams Street website had the advertisement for two bonus tracks and live videos for TWO DAYS after the album was actually released. In case you’re having trouble following, Williams Street is the company that produced the album, so we WERE following what the website said. The reason Best buy and Amazon had that information up was because Williams Street (the motherfucking RECORD LABEL) gave them that information, so fuck you for talking shit about the people expecting to get what the website (the official one) advertised us.

It’s morons like you that make it okay for labels to pull this kind of bullshit. Real fans don’t stand for things like this.

      • BloodLetMasochist says:

Oh my fuckin God. I’ve never heard more bitching coming from a group of so called metalheads in my life. Derrick, Cookie, and the rest of you guys have the right idea. The album is fuckin intense as hell and I couldn’t of asked more out of Brendon Small and the rest of the Metalocalypse crew. They’re awesome musicians and they have put out a hellova lot of music/media/merchandise/tours in a short period of time. Thumbs up to them and they deserve the recognition. I’ll be kickin ass at their concert here in Milwaukee for sure. As for the select few of you who decide you are deservant of an rash opinion, you’re right that the label SHOULD NOT have disclosed false information. But for Christ fuckin sakes, give it a break. Have any of you played in a real band and wrote your own shit? It’s hard work. Now I mean this in a loving manner: Shut the fuck up and join the ranks, give the Metalocalypse crew the awesome ass reviews they deserve, and headbang the shit out this Motherfucker! ROCK ON BROTHERS!!!!

    • Chad says:

Thank you! It is NOT that big a deal! Everyone has their panties in a bunch over 2 songs…. stop crying! Dethalbum II is the best album of ’09 with or without the bonus songs.

  24. Jamie says:

I picked up the deluxe edition at Best Buy Tuesday. They didn’t even have the regular version here….which is fine cause I was gonna get the deluxe anyway. I was hoping for a bit more from the deluxe but for the price its no biggie. Great album…nothing much needed to be said. If you like Dethklok go get it.

  25. Chuck says:

Holy PISS is this intense. It blew one of the speakers on the computer so now I’m listening to it on the Bose. AWESOME. Much larger sound compared to previous album. Screw U2, I want Dethklok to do a stadium concert.

  26. The Dagda Mor says:

As mentioned above, Williams Street has now changed the info on the site saying it has 12 tracks omitting the bonus information. Odd that I am still waiting on an email from them about it.

  27. ellobo says:

i… i love dethklok… but. the dethalbum II was a disappointment. no funny songs, weird vocals that makes Nathan moderately understandable. the drumming was less than half as good as the dethablum’s. sigh. why dethklok? why?

    • Chad says:

What? What were you LISTENING TO?? Wrong wrong wrong…. you are not a fan of metal. Anyway, I like the funny songs and all, but I’d rather hear something more serious. I like that the songs go with the episode of the show they are on and give a more dramatic feel to the show. Drastic improvement. Comedy has it’s place on the show, but not in the music.

  28. sad face :( says:

I liked the album alot but i was disappointed the songs impeach god, klokblocked, dethwedding, and most of all, Dethrace were not on the album. I like the first dethalbum more than this one.

  29. T. Bird says:

Music: so so so awesome. Buy the standard edition. Convince a gullible friend to buy the deluxe edition and ask to borrow the dvd. It’s worth a watch to see the parts that aren’t music videos.
It amazes me that williams street’s webstore is still advertising that the deluxe edtion has the stuff that everyone is pissed they didn’t get. http://www.williamsstreet.com/cat/Metalocalypse/Dethklok-Dethalbum-II-Deluxe-Version.html. (Read the paragraph before you tell me it says it only has the 12 tracks.) I am dissapointed I didn’t get some live footage or the two extra songs but I’m seriously not going to be boycotting Dethklok anytime soon.

  30. Eden says:

not as funny as 1, but seriously seriously great. doesnt get old lol

  31. A. Woj says:

It was worth buying, Heck even the Deluxe is, I still got it dirt cheap from Amazon.

  32. Streehbach says:

Just finished listening to a sample of the second Dethalbum, and quite frankly, I am seriously disappointed. While the first album was supreme and filled with Dethklok, sounding like Nathan Explosion, and performed by Dethklok, the new album sounds like Brandon Small. No offense, but if you’re going to release things related to Dethklok, make it SOUND like Dethklok. Otherwise, call it MoneyKlok and hope that no one notices the difference.

  33. A Harman says:

THE NEW VOICE BLOWS! the music is good i still like the band but the first album was so much more brutal and i expected them to produce more music some of good songs on the show didnt make it onto the album no good the album was okay but nathan needs to sound like nathan

  34. Derrick (klokateer #051) says:

    everyone prepare to hate me….

I love the new vocals… I love the fact that the song are more serious. the old album had some “lol” moments, but they weren’t good enough to make the cd an epic album.

this album leaves behind the comedic values and caveman grunts. its obviously an attempt to make it an honest force in the metal market.

as an INSANE AND OBSESSED fan, I see this as a move forward. everyone who sees this as a fucked up obamination is obviously not a fan of metal.

if you wanna talk shit, go ahead and email me. I don’t mind talking shit to tweens who are anally retentive and wanna cry because the new cd doesn’t cuss enough or make enough jokes to keep them entertained.

this cd is a welcomed change in direction. fuck all you bitches who wanna cry about it.

you punk ass jr high bitches….

  35. Michael Jones says:

is it just me or is track 2 The Gears a perfect song for the game Gears of War

  36. murdertrain225 says:

first of all I love this new album I am a huge fan of dethklok Brandon is a musical genius but i like the fist one better i litsen to that album everyday for a year, dont get me wrong this album kicks ass too but the volcals were so much better in the first one but thats just my opinion i really like the The Gears because the vocals sound like the first album but other than that the new album is fucking awesome definitely go out and buy this if you are a real dethklok fan.

  37. The Dagda Mor says:

OMG!!!! Williams Street just refunded my money because I wrote an email to them wondering why we didn’t get what was advertised on their site. They said “I apologize, but there was an error as to what was posted online to be included.” Said keep the album in apology!

I in no way expected this or asked for this just an explanation on what was up. So thank you to Williams Street and I will for sure still use them and their products.

  38. benzata says:

    Dude albums awesome
new vocals rock, new guitar ehhh good faster than the first
but I gotta say I like the first one better

    No dont beat me massa!!

  39. blackmetalpy says:

DETHALBUM II ROCKS!! THE GUITAR ROCKS!! THE DRUMS ROCK!! THE VOCALS ROCK!!
c’mon are you going to tell me you don’t enjoy the vocals in songs like LASER CANNON..
A GREAT ALBUM.. but im still waiting for these songs:

    - IMPEACH GOD
    - STEEL SARCOPHAGUS
    - TILL DETH
    - TAKIN’ IT EASY
..maybe they will release an EP later next year which will include these songs..
that would be a gift to all of us klokateers..

  40. Harley Wartooth says:

What can I say but…WOWIE!!!!! This CD kicks some serious ass!!

There’s only 2 things I was bummed by, though. I’m not crazy about a cardboard case. They get damaged too easily & I’m VERY anal about keeping my stuff in perfect condition. OCD sucks like that. I’ll just get a single jewel case to bring it in my car. The other is the DVD just has the audio for Fansong. Oh well. Still love Dethklok. I thought the DVD having all those extra scenes was like having a private concert. Very cool!

  41. keonin says:

    DETHKLOK FUCKING RULES!!!!
this album is a ten outta mother fuckin ten! murmaider 2 is EPIC. every song on the album is brutal. the videos were cool but very flashy.

  42. Andrea says:

i ahven’t stopped listening to the album since it came out- its beyond brutal- its catastrophic!!!

  43. Andrea says:

i haven’t stopped listening to the album since it came out- its beyond brutal- its catastrophic!!!

  44. The mastoklok says:

If you pole are so unhappy with the deluxe version. I bet none of you have asked for u blood money back huh so shut up and die

  45. okay, like seriously, brendon small needs to make a band because DIS SH** IS freAAAAKIN AWSOME!!! i mean i love the voice and metal guitar and everything!!!! he should create a band, grow his hair long, and then dye it black and baybay i will own every cd they make

  46. murdertrain225 says:

After litsening to it more i love it murmaider II is so awesome i litsen to it everyday and laser cannon deth sentence is fucking intence the vocals just take some getting used to but it is still awesome, brendon you did it again, swim on!

  47. Rizz says:

Man I am so dissapointed. I was looking forward to this record so much, but now I am just gonna have to keep listening to the first one. Don’t get me wrong, musically its all there, and all dethklok is supposed to be. But who thought it was a good idea to change Explosion’s voice? If you listen to the two albums together, its like they replaced the lead singer with someone completely different and far less brutal. I don’t care if its the same dude just with less filters on his voice, it sounds different. When a bands changes their lead singer (which is essentially what they did) they usually change the band’s name and/or fade into obscurity for messing with what the fans grew to love with the original band. Am I giving up on Dethklok? Fu*K NO! I’m just gonna keep listening to the “sweet blowjobby metal” of the first album and await the triumphant return of Nathan Explosion.
