Looking for some quality metal bands to listen to but can't find them anywhere? Look no further. Use this thread to reccommend bands to others, but no bashing.
Black Metal:

Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger
Burzum - Burzum
Emperor - IX Equilibrium
Immortal - Pure Holocaust
Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas

These are the main 5, easy enough to access, and some of the finest Black Metal bands yet.
Death Metal:

Cannibal Corpse - Kill
Decapitated - The Negation
Suffocation - Suffocayion
Necrophagist - Epitaph
Yattering - Genocide
Nile - Ithyphallic

Some fine bands here, don't be put off by song titles though, the musicianship here is amazing.
Melodeath:

Children of Bodom - Hatebreeder
Norther - Mirror of Madness
Arch Enemy - Anthems of Rebellion
In Flames -

Quite mainstream, but kickass. A few favourites of mine.
Thrash:

Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Machine Head - The More Things Change
Anthrax - Among the Living
Metallica - ...And Justice For All

The big four, but Machine Head deserved a mention there.

Nice, I like a bit of old-school Tallica every now and then. I didn't mention Pantera, although I still believe they are the kings of metal and it's definately worth mentioning them!

Are you being serious? Paranoid's probably Black Sabbath's famous song, and most famous album for that matter. Check it out, it served as a huge influence for a lot of the big Metal bands out there today.
