I, er, apparently have un-named sources for my Dethklokminute. ;)

I was recently emailed a photo of what looks to be Shocker Toys' proto type Dethklok action figures.

2) That is a photo of the proto types. Of course that would NOT be painted. There is [U]no photo of the finished product because they are not yet finished.

Don't yet know if there is more to come with the set. But that is not a bad price for five figures that are a con exclusive. Meaning it will not be available in stores. Shocker has said that the ones available at the con will be different from the ones in the stores.

And if you wait to get them on eBay, you will be paying more.

The final figures are NOT going to be monochrome. The ones in the photo are the models. They have to create them before they can do the molds to make the figures. And models are never painted.

You have to wait until they actually get the figures manufactured before you will see a painted set.

Just to put this to rest the reason the set together is a bit more costly then the one in ine figures coming later is the shipping we have to pay to get them here for SDCC and the fact that they are special and a low production run. They are going to painted and will come with a secret pack in as well. The stores after SDCC show will carry them but you will not be gaurunteed getting all of them as stores order what they want based on which ones they think will sell the best. We are just trying to get 500sets all together so fans can get them all and earlier then everyone else. When they hit stores you can buy the ones you want if you can find them.

Again they will be painted.
A secret pack in.
Attendees and non-attendees can get these sets online. if you are a Dethklok fan like us we made them available so no one can say we didn't make them available to you.
These will be articulated as well and have a great collectible box.

i got mine Thursday. no stickers.in case you didn't know Adult Swim took too long to approve the designs so no secret pack in figuare. I have no idea why no Banana stickers. But aside from that the figuares look awesome!! very cool

We sure could have for $2.00 extra a set charged to the fans. Thats how much it would have cost to add them in if we pushed. And the price was already high as we had to do a low run number to get them in time which hiked up the price alot. Also we never promised a 6th figure we said we were going to have a pack in which was to be banana stickers. The retail line will have alot and we will have more then one wave as well.

Ok, so I got my package right? Where the F#CK should I begin?

First of all, let's talk about how this thing was shipped. The box of figures was thrown into a way-too-big cardboard box which actually was an old piece of cardboard crudely folded INTO a box, with absolutely NO protective packaging whatsoever. No puffy peanuts, no bubble paper, nothing. Not even some crumpled up newspaper for some cushion. The shitty makeshift box was in fact SO shitty that it broke open during shipping. Since there was NOTHING AT ALL inside the package other than the figures themselves, their box is all dented and broken. Thanks a LOT, guys.

And speaking of which, next, what's this special "collectible box" that was spoken of? There is nothing special about it at all that I can see; it's rather plain, and kinda ugly, actually, and mine is badly damaged as it is.

So, uh... where's this special figure I was promised? Where are my banana stickers? You do not tell customers they are getting this and that as an incentive to purchase and then duck out. And without any warning, either. That is TERRIBLE business. False advertising. I could tell the second I took the BROKEN box out of the OTHER broken box that there was no room in the damn thing for another figure to be hiding in there. If you knew this shit with stickers and the bonus figure hadn't worked out after all, at least f#cking say something, not that I'd be any less pissed, really. What a bunch of bullshit.

My Skwisgaar's arm is broken. Like, REALLY broken. As in barely attached to the figure. It just dangles there and swings back and forth. Thanks, guys. Seriously. Why couldn't it be my MF figure that had to be broken? Cool. Awesome. Great. LOTS of fudged joints on these figures. Some of the joints are stuck and don't work, others I'm afraid to even touch for fear they will break...

As for the appearance of the figures, yeah, they're cute, but they're not OMFG uber-detailed or amazing by any means. The way they were described by Shocker Toys' posts in this thread, I thought that I would be getting, y'know... a set of figurines that are worth $95. Which is what I paid for the damn things.

I would expect to pay maybe $40 for what I got from this company... $45 tops... Sure as hell not $95. One of the biggest ripoffs I've ever experienced. What a tremendous disappointment. Seriously, I want my money back. At least part of it. Either that or give me what I was told I was buying.

Thanks for using false promises to motivate me to spend a lot of money on something that basically turned out to be a pile of crap. Thanks for getting me really excited about the supposedly amazingly detailed, high-quality figurines, special stickers, and secret bonus figure only to send me A BROKEN BOX WITH BROKEN FIGURINES. I do want to contact them about my complaints, but... based on the unconcerned manner in which they've responded to others' disappointment so far... I have a strong feeling that they won't do jack shit about it.

I got my figures a little while back, and my box also came in crappy condition. One side of it was almost completely smashed in. In fact, the 'collector's box' didn't even arrive in another box. ><; It just arrived on my porch as is. lol. I'm just glad the figures were okay. :)

If I hadn't bought mine as a collector's item, I guess I wouldn't give a shit about the box and just throw it away, but since it's going on display, it's important to me for the box to be in proper condition. Man, it really annoys me to know that, since their retort to my complaint was that "nobody else has had this problem." Doesn't matter if I'm the only person in the whole f#cking world who had the problem -- doesn't change the fact that my box is broken, does it? And I know now that I am NOT the only one. This probably happened to a lot of people -- they just didn't bother to say anything.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. You can actually get all of the joints to move around well if you work with them very carefully, but yeah, a lot of the joints were fudged. Just kinda stuck in place. But an arm that's all loose and almost falling off -- that, I cannot have.

Holy shit on a shit sandwich... I feel bad for you people who got royally screwed, I really do. In retrospect and comparison, I guess I got off relatively easy!

My set was shipped in the same oversized package, but it was not damaged, nor the box inside. The handwritten number on the box was clear and unsmudged (it was a sub-100 number, but nowhere near as low as it could have been- guess that's what I get for putting things off). The colors were vibrant, even if the paint job didn't look like it took the utmost of care (where's Nathan's wisp?). I can understand how a tiny company like Shocker may have trouble dealing with business behemoths like Turner and Williams Street, so I took the absence of any freebie in stride.

When I got the figures home, however, my disposition changed.

I understand that vinyl is less expensive than PVC or other plastics for production, but does not lend itself horribly well to figurines. In packaging the figures, they had been wedged into their formfit packaging molds, and, as a result, all save one (Toki) were pigeontoed, and would not stand unassisted.

For now, I have them propped against something on my shelf to keep them standing, and am working on custom stands for them (which I shouldn't really have to do). I'm hesitant now to try and retrain their legs to be straight, as they may snap, and I wouldn't want that to happen.

I'm not furious, but, neither am I happy. I'll be looking to the retail releases of the figures to see if these (and other) problems have been addressed. I will, however, not be purchasing anything from this company outside of the DK figs, though. Their corner-cutting and semi-snarky attitude fairly reeks of unprofessionalism (perhaps their motto should be, "If It's Quality, It's A Shocker"?).

(As a side note, the Banana Stickers offered by the other company that Shocker didn't name are complete and utter fail if you're trying to attach them to anything that doesn't have a light or white background... they're transparent!)

Yea um DOMO did not get screwed by us let's just get that friggin straight! We did not write return to sender on the box and have no idea how that happened. We had already sent the replacement before even recieving the old set which means Mr. Domo got 2 sets for price of 1. You people need to stop looking a gift horse in the mouth no one else wanted to make Dethklok or does sans the small pvc 3" non poseable figures by Kid Robot. Be happy someone (fans of the show) are making toys at all!

The package has "return to sender" written on it twice in different colors of ink and a "refused -- return to sender" postal label slapped on it. I don't know what else to tell you. It certainly doesn't seem like an accident.

I cannot believe the attitude I've met with during this ordeal... I could say so much more, but I'm trying to resist the urge, as the situation has been resolved...

My most recent post in this thread was made before speaking with Shocker Toys again. Yes, having two sets of figures would more than amend the situation, and I found this to be a very pleasant compromise. I was already planning to and will make a post regarding this IF/when I receive the figures. Given every other mishap, I'm in no mood to celebrate too soon. When Mr. Domo gets Mr. Domo's other set of figures, then Mr. Domo will let everyone know that Mr. Domo has been appeased -- but not before.

It's not really a "gift horse" when you needlessly bump up the price and mislead your customers about what they're buying...

As for the "crap talk" -- this is a forum, dude. People are going to share their experiences and voice their opinions in an open and casual manner. It may not be what you'd like for us to be saying, but that doesn't make any of it any less valid or true.

There are sometimes where they don't look as good as they usually do, but they look really good at certain angles, too.
