Have you tried ice cream? Cold things are good, and some warm things too, like soup. I think cold things are better during hot weather.

Actually I had a milkshake, and that helped tons.

Usually when I get a sore throat I buy something with either chocolate or caramel in it. It coats my throat and helps me feel better. :)
Like one of those blended ice-caramel frapps or something..

Yeah, I just got over a cold, and in the begining of it, I got a really sore throat, so I drank a lot of cold soda and ate a lot of ice cream, because I hated the feeling..it's gross D:
But it obviously wasn't long lasting xD;
so either way, I'd probably go with the salt water to make it stop bothering you for a long period of time. Works for me anyway..don't know why I didn't do it :/

That stuff just makes it feel better, but doesn't solve the problem. My singer swears by Tea. Something in it helps to actually heal your sore throat. Not just my singer, but a lot I know use this trick.

Peppermint tea or hot salted chicken/beef broth.
